Rafaela Earrings

These went in the morning after they arrived and have essentially not come out since. That includes every shower, a fortnight by the sea with daily swims, and a very sweaty gym routine. The curved front still has that liquid mirror finish with no water spotting and no cloudy patches at the edges. Even the underside of the dome, which is where water sits when they are on, looks untouched. I rinse them under the tap along with my hands and dry them on a towel and that is the whole routine. For something I have treated this badly they look completely new.

I react to nearly everything and usually end up with a sore, weeping lobe within a few hours of putting studs in. These went in on a Saturday and I genuinely forgot about them until the following evening. No itching, no swelling, no redness around the hole at all. I have since worn them for entire weekends without taking them out, and through several long flights where my ears usually complain the most. The flat back sits close without pressing into my lobe, which I think helps a great deal. They are the only studs I own that I never think about.

I chose the gold and the tone has not shifted a shade since February. A smooth curved surface like this shows every bit of tarnish, so I fully expected to see cloudy patches or a brassy edge by now. There is nothing, not on the face, not around the rim, and not on the posts or backs which usually darken first from sweat. They live in a dish on my bathroom shelf rather than a sealed box and steam has not affected them either. I bought the silver pair afterwards and that one has held its cool tone just as well.

Four months of shoving them in half asleep and neither post has bent or gone rough. They still slide in without any fiddling.

I ordered silver and they are lovely, but on me the gold version looks warmer and richer. Entirely a personal preference, the shape is perfect either way.

No weight issues at all and they wear beautifully. On my smaller ears they read bolder than I pictured from the listing. I have grown to like that, but worth knowing.
