Petite Cross Necklace

I put this on in March and it has not come off since, water included. It has been in the ocean on two trips, in the pool most weeks, and in the shower every single morning without exception. I never take it off to dry it, I just leave it on and let it sort itself out. The chain has not stiffened or spotted and the crystals in the cross are still perfectly clear with no water marks in the settings. Even the extender links at the back, which sit wet against my neck constantly, are as bright as the rest of it. I have ruined two delicate necklaces this way before, so this one genuinely surprised me.

I have thrown away three gold plated necklaces because the chain went dark and blotchy at the back within a couple of months. This one has been worn daily since the end of February and there is nothing, not on the links, not on the clasp, not around the stones in the cross. I work in a hospital so it deals with sanitizer, constant handwashing and a lot of sweat under scrubs. I have never cleaned it with anything other than water. The gold is still the exact tone it was in the listing and the cross has not picked up any of that dull grey cast plated pieces usually get. A colleague assumed it was solid gold, which says everything about how well it has held.

Anything with nickel gives me a raised red line right where the chain sits, usually within a few hours. I have not been able to wear a necklace daily in years, so I bought this one fully expecting to send it back. It has now been on my neck almost constantly since March with zero irritation, including sleeping in it every night. I have worn it damp from the shower and through sweaty summer days, which is normally the fastest way to set my skin off. Nothing at the back of my neck, nothing where the pendant rests, nothing at all. My sister has the same problem and ordered one the week after she saw mine.

The necklace itself is lovely and I have worn it constantly since it arrived. Delivery took considerably longer than the estimate and missed the occasion. Order well in advance.

Same warm color it was in February with no reddish shift at all. Daily wear, daily showers, and a lot of perfume and lotion. Not one bit of it has affected the finish.

The cross itself is beautiful and sparkles far more than I expected for the size. Without the extender the chain sits higher on me than I'd like, so I wear it extended most days.
