Mylene Bracelet

I gave up on bracelets about six years ago after one too many rashes that took weeks to clear. My skin reacts to nickel and the reaction is always worst on my wrist where the metal sits flat against damp skin. I ordered this knowing it was stainless steel underneath and told myself I would test it for one evening. That evening turned into four months of wearing it almost every day, including through workouts, showers, and long humid afternoons. My wrist has stayed completely clear the entire time with no itching or redness at any point. Having something this sparkly that my skin simply does not notice has been genuinely worth the risk.

I have owned four gold tone bracelets in the last five years and every one of them went brassy at the clasp end within two months. That end takes the most handling so the plating wears fastest, and once it starts it spreads down the chain. This one has been worn nearly daily since February and the clasp is the exact same color as the middle links. In that time it has been through sunscreen, self tanner, hair products, and a lot of humid Florida weather. I even wore it to a spa day and forgot it in the steam room part of the circuit. Not one bit of pink or copper has appeared anywhere on it.

I coach a youth swim team so I am poolside or in the water five days a week from March through August. This bracelet has come with me for all of it because I got tired of losing jewelry in the locker room. It has been fully submerged in chlorine hundreds of times now, plus a two week trip to the Outer Banks where it was in the ocean daily. What amazes me is the space behind each marquise setting, because that is exactly where water sits and turns everything cloudy and gray on cheaper pieces. There is nothing back there, no film and no dark spots, and the gold frames are as bright as the day it came. I honestly do not treat it carefully at all and it keeps looking expensive.

The bracelet is genuinely lovely and the vintage look is exactly what I wanted. The packaging was very simple, which was a shame as I had bought it for my mother's birthday.

No complaints on comfort at all, it wears effortlessly. The delivery window was longer than expected.

For under forty dollars it has more presence than bracelets I have paid triple for. The light it throws is genuinely impressive in a restaurant. I have recommended it to four people.
