Mia Necklace

I bought this in March and it has been in the water with me almost every week since. Between lap swimming twice a week at the community pool, daily showers, and a full week in the Gulf in June, it has been soaked constantly. The spot I worried about was where the chain passes through the bail, because water sits in there and eats the plating on everything else I own. I checked it under a bright light last week and there is no dark ring, no corrosion, and no dulling at that joint. The oval dome itself still has a perfect mirror shine with no water spotting anywhere on it. I have completely stopped taking it off for anything.

My skin reacts to almost every metal and the base of my throat is the worst spot for it. Anything with nickel leaves a red itchy patch within a couple of hours and it lingers for days afterward. This necklace is stainless steel underneath so I tried it knowing I could return it if my skin objected. It has now been on nearly every day since March, through workouts, showers, and long humid days where the pendant sat against damp skin for hours. There has not been a single flare, no itching, and no redness anywhere along the chain or under the dome. It is the only gold necklace I own that I can genuinely wear every day.

I have bought so many gold pendant necklaces over the years and they always fail in the same way, with the chain going brassy long before the pendant does. You end up with a bright pendant hanging from a dull orange chain and it looks terrible. This one has been worn nearly every day since February and both parts are still the exact same tone. That is after daily showers, perfume, hairspray, sunscreen, and a very humid spring in Atlanta. I laid it out next to a photo I took the day it arrived and could not find any difference in color. It is the first plated necklace I have owned that has aged evenly.

The dome is beautifully polished and the chain hangs elegantly, so I am very pleased with the look. It falls lower on me than the photos suggested and I have shortened it with the adjuster.

No issues with how it wears, it is genuinely comfortable. Delivery just took longer than the estimate.

It falls just low enough to look intentional over a blouse without ever swinging into my keyboard. I wear it through full days at a desk. Comfortable and quietly polished.
