Meteorite Ring

This went with me for two weeks on the Gulf and I never once took it off. Salt water every day, then rinsing sand off in the outdoor shower, then a hot tub most evenings. The textured surface is where I assumed water would sit and leave marks, and there is nothing, no spots, no dull pits, no darkening down in the deeper crevices. It came home looking exactly as molten and bright as it did in the packaging. I have since worn it in the pool at my gym without a second thought. For a ring with this much surface detail, that is genuinely impressive.

I have not been able to wear a wide ring in years because anything covering that much of my finger leaves me itchy and red within hours. This one is a full centimetre thick and my skin has not reacted at all. I have worn it through work days, through gardening, and through a very hot week where my hands swelled slightly, and there was still no irritation underneath. The inside is smooth and rounded rather than sharp edged, which I think helps. My dermatologist actually asked what it was made of because she was surprised. It is the first statement ring I have kept past the first week.

The thing I worried about with a crumpled surface like this was grime and darkening settling into the low points, which is exactly what happened with a similar chunky ring I owned before. Four months of daily wear later, every crevice on this one is still the same warm gold as the raised parts. No dark shadows, no coppery edges, no wear on the inner band where it turns against my finger. I wear it on my index finger which knocks against everything, and the finish has not chipped anywhere. Even the underside, which never sees light, looks identical to the top. I clean it with nothing more than a rinse.

Lovely piece and no discomfort at all through a full day. It does cover a good stretch of the finger, so it crowds my other rings a little. I now wear it on its own and that solved it.

The raised ridges are where I expected the finish to rub thin first. Months on, they are as bright as the recessed parts. Nothing has worn through to a different colour.

It took longer to reach me than expected, which was stressful with a birthday coming up. The ring itself was worth waiting for and looked expensive straight out of the packet.
