Maria Earrings

I wore these on a beach holiday and never took them out once, which was not the plan. They went in the sea most days, through outdoor showers, and into a hot tub twice. All three stones are still perfectly clear with no clouding behind them where water usually gets trapped in a setting. The gold framework holding them is just as bright as it was in the box with no spotting or water marks. I rinsed them under a tap when we got home and that was all they needed. Two months later they are still my everyday pair and they look brand new.

My ears go sore and weepy with almost every pair of earrings I own, and drops are the worst because of the weight pulling on the post. These have been in for whole days at a time with no soreness whatsoever. No itching, no redness around the hole, no crusting the next morning. I have worn them for twelve hour days, through a wedding, and forgotten them in overnight more than once with no trouble at all. They are light enough that I genuinely stop noticing them. This is the first coloured pair I have been able to keep.

The gold around coloured stones is always the first thing to go on cheaper drops, usually turning a pinkish tone within a month or two. These have been worn several times a week since February and the settings are still the same warm gold right around each stone, including the back of the frames. The posts and the little butterfly backs have not darkened either, which I did not expect at all. No dull patches, no brassy edges, nothing collecting in the joins between the three stones. I keep them in a bowl on my dresser rather than a box and they still look showroom fresh.

The colours are gorgeous and they catch light beautifully. Personally I would have loved a slightly longer dangle, but that is just my taste.

Chlorine twice a week since spring and the stones are as bright as ever. No film, no dullness, no darkening on the settings.

Beautifully light and no lobe ache at all. I had hoped for a slightly longer drop to peek out from my hair. Still wear them weekly.
