Liv Bangle

This has been in the pool with me four mornings a week since May and I never take it off afterwards either. Chlorine is what finished off my last gold bangle, which went patchy and pale within about six weeks. This one has not changed at all. The polished dome still throws a clean mirror reflection and the inside of the band, where water sits after a swim, is exactly as bright as the outside. No white residue building up, no rough patches, no dulling around the open ends. I towel it dry and that is the extent of the care it gets.

The width was my main worry because with my nickel allergy the more metal touching me the faster things go wrong, and a broad bangle sits against a lot of skin. I have reacted badly to plated bracelets within hours before, with a red itchy band that lasts a week afterwards. This one went on in March and I have worn it for days at a time since, including sleeping and working out in it. My wrist has stayed completely clear the whole time with no redness, no bumps and none of the dry flaking I usually get. Even in hot weather when it is damp underneath there has been nothing. I bought the second color once I was sure.

Every wide gold bangle I have owned has developed dull grey patches along the underside, usually within about two months of daily wear, and once that starts the whole thing looks secondhand. That underside is in constant contact with sweat and desk surfaces so it never gets a break. I have worn this one almost daily since February through workouts, cooking and a very warm spring. I took it off last week and turned it slowly under a bright light looking specifically for that discoloration. The inside face is exactly the same bright even gold as the top of the dome. No shadowing, no spotting, and I have never used a cloth on it.

I have narrow wrists so it moves more than I expected. Squeezing it in slightly helped and it is comfortable now.

Getting it past my knuckles took some working the first few times. Once on it sits comfortably and I now leave it there. Worth knowing if your hands are on the broader side.

After five months of wear it still passes for the real thing at any distance. The plating has not thinned at the high point of the curve where wear usually shows. Nobody has guessed.
