Iris Necklace

This arrived in late February and has been my everyday necklace ever since. Beaded chains have burned me before, the last one I owned had half its beads go dull and gray by the second month and it left a green mark on my neck that took days to fade. Every single bead on this one is still bright and even, no dark spots, no plating rubbing off where it sits against my skin. The green stone has not faded one bit either, which surprised me most since colored stones usually go washed out. It has been through sunscreen, perfume, sweaty afternoons, and hundreds of showers. Five months of daily wear with no polishing and it looks essentially new.

Grabbed the light blue one right before a two week trip to the Outer Banks and it never came off. Ocean every morning, pool every afternoon, outdoor shower after, plus one very rainy day of mini golf. The cabochon still has the exact same turquoise depth it had in the box, no fading from the sun and no clouding from the salt. Every tiny gold bead on the chain still shines, which I did not expect since beaded chains have so many little surfaces to go dull. It has stayed on through daily showers since we got home. Zero maintenance and it still looks like a vacation souvenir I just bought.

Diagnosed nickel allergy here, which means most jewelry gives me an angry itchy patch right where it rests. Beaded chains have always been the worst offenders because there is so much metal touching skin. Wore this one nervously for a day, then a week, and now it has been about two months of constant wear. No itching, no redness, nothing, even after long sweaty days when my skin normally flares. Being able to wear a chain that sits right on my collarbone again without dreading it is a genuine relief.

This is my go-to for the shore and it has spent whole days in salt water and sand. Rinse it off and the stone glows the same as ever. Sunscreen has not left any film either.

I was expecting the turquoise tone from the listing and mine is noticeably softer and lighter. It's still pretty and I'm keeping it, but it isn't quite the color I had in my head when I ordered.

The cabochon is beautiful and the beaded chain is prettier than I expected from the pictures. Delivery took longer than the estimate, which was my only frustration. The necklace itself is lovely and I wear it constantly.
