Amor Necklace

Bought this back in February and it has been on my neck nearly every single day since. My track record with gold plated chains is grim, the last two both went dull and coppery around the clasp within six weeks, and one left a stripe on my skin I had to scrub off. This one still looks like the day it arrived, same warm gold, same shine on the chunky links, no dark edges anywhere. The ridges on the heart are still crisp instead of going soft and worn like cheap plating does. Sweat, sunscreen, dish soap, and a very humid spring have not touched it. Five months in with zero polishing and it still passes for real gold.

Booked a spa weekend in Scottsdale and decided this would be the test. It went in the hot tub, the lap pool, the dry sauna, and then straight into the shower afterward without me thinking twice. Came home looking exactly like it did in the box, no water spots on the links, no cloudiness around the heart. Two weeks later I got caught in a downpour walking the dog and honestly forgot I was even wearing it. The gold has not changed tone anywhere, not even where the toggle bar rubs. This is officially the necklace I never take off.

Metal allergies have ruled my jewelry choices since high school, and anything with nickel gives me a raised itchy line across my collarbone within hours. Ordered this expecting to return it and braced myself for the usual. Six weeks of daily wear later there is nothing, no itch, no redness, not a single bump where the toggle sits. My skin usually reacts fastest in the heat and I wore it through a very sweaty Memorial Day cookout with no problem at all. Being able to wear a heavy statement chain again feels like getting something back.

The ribbed heart is gorgeous and the link chain looks so rich against skin. It arrived in fairly simple packaging, which mattered because it was an anniversary gift. The necklace itself is a solid five stars.

Sixty minutes in a 105 degree room three times a week, and it stays on. Sweat pools right where the pendant sits and the finish has not budged. Wipe it down after and it looks brand new.

Comfortable and it lies nicely, no irritation at all on my neck. It does feel more substantial than the delicate chains I usually wear, so I notice it more. I have adjusted and now wear it a few times a week.
