Alma Ring

Wore this the entire ten days we were in Cabo and never once took it off. Saltwater every afternoon, pool most mornings, sunscreen on my hands constantly, plus outdoor showers by the beach club. It came home looking identical to how it left, gold still warm and bright, stone still completely clear. My husband's plated band from a different brand actually went dull on the same trip, which made the difference obvious. Rinsed mine with tap water each night and that was the whole routine. For a ring I wear this hard, I expected some sign of wear by now and there just isn't any.

Six months of near-daily wear and I want to report that my finger is still just a finger. Every gold-look ring I bought before this left a green stripe within about two weeks, sometimes faster in summer. This one has been through hot Texas days, dish soap, hand sanitizer at work, and the gym, and the plating has not lifted or discolored anywhere. I even compared it against a ring I bought last year that has gone dark and patchy around the band, and there's no comparison. The gold still looks warm and even all the way around, including underneath where the band sits against my palm. Genuinely the first plated piece that has held up for me.

My nickel allergy is bad enough that I've had to give away rings from people I love, so I ordered this fully expecting to return it. Wore it two hours the first day just to test, then a full day, and now it's been on my hand for over three months straight. No itching, no redness, no dry flaky patch underneath where the band sits. Surgical steel is usually the one thing my skin tolerates and this seems to be the real deal rather than a coating over something cheap. I've worn it through sweaty afternoons and while gardening with damp hands, both of which normally set my skin off. It's the only ring in my jewelry box I don't have to think twice about.

Our neighborhood pool opened in May and I've been in it constantly with my son. Forgot to take this off nearly every time. The gold is still even and bright, which is not what chlorine usually does to plated jewelry.

The ring itself is stunning, the oval throws light everywhere and the band texture is lovely. I did buy it as a gift and the packaging was pretty basic, so I moved it into a nicer box. The ring absolutely earns five stars on its own.

What sold me was the ribbed band, and I half expected those ridges to smooth out from rubbing against my other fingers. Nowhere close. You can still feel every groove and the texture catches light exactly like it did in March.
