Allegra Earrings

I sleep in earrings and shower in them because taking studs in and out irritates my ears, so anything I buy has to survive water. These fans have been through daily showers, shampoo, conditioner and a whole week at a resort pool since March. The swirled ridges are exactly where I expected soap scum to collect and go cloudy, and there is nothing there. The gold is still bright right down into the grooves and the posts have not corroded or gone rough at all. I have owned statement studs half this size that turned dull in a month of the same routine. These are on month four and they still look like the product photo.

A three centimeter fan catches a lot of light, which means any color shift shows immediately. I have worn these three or four days a week since the middle of February, including through a lot of humid spring weather and hairspray. The outer edges of the swirls take the most contact with my hair and my phone, and they are still the exact same gold as the center. Nothing has gone orange, nothing has darkened where the post meets the back of the fan, and my earlobes have never had a mark on them. My old statement studs from a boutique went coppery on the edges within about six weeks.

My piercings react to almost everything and I have had two of them close up over the years because of infections from cheap posts. Big studs are the worst offenders because the weight pulls and the post moves in the hole all day. I put these in for two hours the first day and checked, then a full day, then wore them to work. Two months in there is no redness, no soreness, and no crusting at the back of the lobe, which is my usual warning sign. Even sleeping in them has not caused any irritation. These sit in the same category as my titanium studs for me now, which is not something I say lightly.

These have basically lived in my ears since February. Showers, workouts, sleep, hairspray. Still the same warm gold with no dull spots anywhere.

The shine and the sculpted fan are exactly as elegant as shown. They sit a bit smaller on my ear than I pictured from the listing photos. Still lovely, I just hoped for slightly more drama.

The listing pictures made these look a bit more modest than they actually are. I love them but they are firmly in statement territory, not everyday subtle. Something to know before ordering if you prefer small studs.
